Great Potential For Motorbike And Hardware Trading Business In Kelantan (Malaysia SME, Julai 2011)
Kota Bharu, June 10 (Bernama) -- Bumiputera entrepreneurs should utilise funding provided by Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd, the country's national entrepreneur development corporation, to tap the huge potential existing for the motorbike and hardware trading business in Kelantan and the East Coast.
PUNB Eastern Region Senior Executive Nik Mohd Nor Arif Yahya said at present there were only five PUNB-funded Bumiputera entrepreneurs operating the business in the state.
"We are targetting to have at least 10 outlets operating in this field by year-end as demand was growing for such services.
"When there are many motorbike entrepreneurs in the state, PUNB will help them set up a state-level entrepreneur consortium," he told reporters here today.
Nik Mohd said each motorbike entreprenuer would be given an initial loan facility of RM200,000 and an upfront advance of RM50,000 which can be used to purchase stocks and refurbishing of premises.
"We will also provide legal service at reasonable rates according to their affordability," he said.
However, only entrepreneurs with a good track record would be identified for funding assistance. They are welcomed to top up their investments and PUNB is ready to inject up to RM1 million to these motorbike entrepreneurs.
Nik Mohd also advised Bumiputera entrepreneurs in Kelantan to give their premises a "new look" and be on par with their non-Bumiputera and international counterparts.
"From our observation, many business premises owned by Bumiputeras do not care about image.
"The image of their respective premises is important to draw customers. If it is run down and unattractive, customers will shy away from such shops," he added. -- BERNAMA
